Perfect for my 3 year old!!!
I researched every review I could find before buying this game for my 3 year old. I thought it was a little expensive for a child, but I’m so glad I bought it. We’d rented the CARS games for him before, but they are a little hard to control and he would get stuck. The Diego game is perfect. It’s easy for him to maneuver (not sure about the nephew in a previous review, but it can’t get much simpler). There are no written instructions-all oral and so many different areas/animals to go through and rescue. We’ve had this game for almost a year now and though he doesn’t play it often (maybe once or twice a month), when he does, he doesn’t get bored and doesn’t want to put it down. Every time we put it in, he decides if he wants to do races or rescues (so simple he can navigate his own way through these) and there are enough of each that he never gets bored. Even when he does the last rescue and the credits are rolling, he can still control the characters and “play”. There definitely needs to be more games for this demographic.

Maybe an older 2 yr old could even play!
As the family got a Wii for “our” birthday (4 b-days in 2 weeks), we got this for our daughter who just turned 3, because its about all we could find for her age. She can already play reasonably well, though I’m sure she doesn’t understand the overall goals (like gathering seed for an ostrich or taking lion cubs home). Nevertheless, she can manuever Diego, and that’s really all she needs to do. Like I said, she just turned 3 (and really has no video-game experience beyond the computer), so an older 2-year- old or one who has done games with other controllers may even be able to do this.

Great for my 3-year-old!!
I was looking for a game my 3yo could play and this one is great! It’s just like watching the show except you actually have to do the things they prompt you to do. I went through the first adventure with my kid to get him used to what he’s supposed to do, but after that he could play it all by himself. He loves it!!

Great for 3 year olds
This game was great for my 3 year old after getting frustrated with playing some games with his 6 year old brother. Fun movements on the Wii controller, average graphics (but a 3 year old doesn’t care), quite a short game and easy for him to follow. Quite a short game though and it didn’t take him long to finish it but he seems happy to replay it. Good for the price.

Not the best and not worth the money.
It’s O.K. but can get boring pretty quick if u know what I mean. It’s really

made for multi player and the karaoke is a gyp. U don’t even need to speak the words as long as u manage to make an audible mumble thats loud enough for the game.

Not as good as Gamecube Karaoke Revolution
When we got our Wii, we also got the Gamecube version of Karaoke Revolution. We like Karaoke Revolution because of the mix of karaoke and the use of the dance mat. Boogie, however, does not use the dance mat. It uses the Wiimote and nunchuk to make the characters dance, which can become very boring and repetitive. In the story mode, you must meet certain score requirements in order to unlock the next level. For the dancing portions, this can actually be quite challenging, especially because the Wiimote doesn’t always seem to respond appropriately. As far as Karaoke goes, it does have some more recent songs than Karaoke Revolution, but the Karaoke format is poor. In Karaoke Revolution, the words are directly under the bars that tell you whether you’re on pitch or not. In Boogie, the words are at the bottom of the screen, while the pitch bars are in the middle. This makes it difficult to look at both at the same time, as well as to discern when you should be singing each word. If you are looking for a Karaoke game for your Wii, us the backward compatability function and go for Gamecube Karaoke Revolution instead.

Get up and get busy
This is a fun family game. It allows you to sing and dance and be a star. A decent variety of songs to choose from. The microphone is easy to set up and works quite well. The dancing it allows you to do is a little tricky, but with a little practice becomes easier. This game is more for kids ages 11-15. Lyrics/songs may be a little suggestive but not too bad. If your kids or you like to sing - this isn’t a bad game to get.

Could be improved
There were lots of issues with this game. Half the songs didn’t play or were locked. It was also not intuitive and difficult to use.

Looks great and does silence, but misses hits
Picked these up after I started getting complaints about the noise from hitting the drums. The pads are definitely high quality and does reduce the contact noise significantly, and as an added bonus makes the RB drum set look much nicer to boot. However, I noticed a lot of missed notes once I put these on, even when I tried to hit the pads harder. If I took the pads off the hits registered fine. I had to reluctantly return them.

“Quiet Dissent” (or Why You Shouldn’t Bother with This Item)
I love my rock band, and I have friends over to jam regularly.

Unfortunately, I live on a 2nd floor apartment and have to worry about noise as well. Not regular noise, I crank the tv up just fine, but the drums themself are terribly loud. Solution found, I thought.

These pads stick to the pads well (a little too well, see below…) and are fairly easy to apply. They also make the drum heads look fantastic, a great improvement over how they were. They also do make the overall sound much more muted when banging away.

Unfortunately that’s it for the good stuff. My friends and I tried them for a week or two only to find they frustrate more than help. First off, you need to hit harder to compensate for the extra padding, which ruins the point of softening the hit, as it once again grows louder from the extra hard banging.

Around 10% of the notes you hit don’t register because of the thickness of the pads. This alone was enough to make us give up on them and take them off within 2 weeks, but then when I did so I found out just how obnoxiously loud it had been without them. Lose/Lose situation. :(

Also, when I removed the pads, I found the glue rubbed off half on the pad and half on the drum header itself, so it takes a bit of scrubbing and peeling to get them cleaned up back to their normal ugly gray self. (It won’t permanently ruin your headers if you decide to remove them, but it will take quite a bit of effort to fully clean)

They are very much NOT re-usable if they’re taken off…unless you find a way to glue them back on yourself…not recommended.

Rock band 2 drum set is getting much better reviews, so now I’m looking into that instead. Too bad the local game store won’t take trade-ins on the originals :(

Bad idea…
I figured that this would be an affordable alternative to buying the new drum kit for Rock Band 2, but I was dead wrong. It does greatly reduce the noise, which might sound awesome, but it also makes a BIG difference as to the percentage of notes hit. With the drum silencers on, I missed a very significant amount of notes on many songs that I have 5 starred numerous times on Expert difficulty. It might sound like a good idea to hit them harder, but even this doesnt gaurentee a registered hit. And for songs like Long Time or Everlong, hitting the drums that hard with that kind of precision is just not possible.

I read the other reviews and thought that I could deal with it, but this is inexcusable.

If you want quieter drums, spring for the new drum kit. These are not worth the money.

For when the man (downstairs) keeps you down
I had only been in my new, second floor, apartment for two weeks when I heard the inevitable pounding on my front door. Immediately, I knew what the problem was. A few friends were over and we were jamming it big time in Rock Band. So, when I opened the door to the refrain I’m sure a lot of apartment Rock Band aficionados have heard, of, “Can you stop whatever pounding you’re doing? It sounds like my ceiling’s collapsing,” I began my search for some way of silencing the pads.

I spent a good deal of time looking online and couldn’t find a satisfactory answer; with Rock Band 2 coming out, something had to be done. I wouldn’t let the man keep me down. So, with the release of Rock Band 2, I purchased these silencers for my original Rock Band 1 drums, hoping that they’d work.

The difference was staggering.

What once was a loud racket is now a quiet, subdued sound reminiscent of practice pads for drummers. A muffled noise that also didn’t reverberate as much throughout the drum set, keeping things pretty quiet. In fact, sometimes the clicking of the guitar strummer was louder than my drumming. I’ve played the newly silenced drums about five or six times since release, at various periods throughout the day and night, and so far no complaints.

Additionally, the silencers have a bit more of a natural drumming bounciness to them, allowing for a tad more realistic experience. Now, some reviewers here have said it screwed up their accuracy. I can’t speak towards that because I actually have seen my accuracy go up a little bit due to the bounciness. It’s something to keep in mind, but for what it’s worth, I haven’t had any trouble.

I was very hesitant to purchase these pads. But I had to do something because I wasn’t about to stop playing the drums. If you’re in the same predictament, I’d definitely recommend these pads. They were easy to place on, deadened the noise considerably and allowed me to play my drums again. For that alone, it’s worth five stars and a huge recommendation.

If you have QM model drums, these things rock!
First, there are various models of drums for rock band. If you have a QM model like me, these silencers work great. Check your serial number on the bottom side of your drum pads, between the yellow and blue drums to see if the letter QM are in it.

I noticed a dramatic difference in sound. I can actually hear the songs I’m playing now. The silencers also give an added bounce, which helps with faster beats. The biggest difference is that I instantly did better on songs with fast beast simply because I could hear the song to keep beat with. I also enjoy hearing the fills I make now. I highly recommend buying these if you want silencers and have QM model drums!

Limited options
Some games that are “2 or more players” force you to use one remote, having to hand it off for every turn. This gets very annoying, especially with the Wii wrist strap on. Cup game is too difficult. Can’t use your own Mii, have to use one of theirs from limited selection. (Selection grow as you earn points, but progress has been too slow to be any fun.) This could have been done a lot better, but they obviously cut corners.

Pretty good for the money
Overall, this was a pretty fun game, especially for the price. The controls worked as expected, though it took some time to figure out the hoop shot. Shuffleboard and darts were especially fun and have provided hours of fun. The one truly downside is that you have to use the provided characters and can’t use any created Mii’s.

Not a party game
Many of these games on this disk cannot be played in two player mode. Ring toss had to be the most frustrating game because it is almost impossible to get very many rings around the bottle. Their version of skeet ball can be found on other games such as Carnival. Many of these games can be found elsewhere. Honestly this was one of the most frustrating games, it didn’t inspire a lot of fun, nor would I break it out at a party.

Not the best game for the Wii
It was shipped very fast. It’s fun, but not like I expected. The games Wii-mote accuracy is not as precise as games like Mario Party or Mario and Sonic at the Olympics.

We just bought this game for our kids but my husband and I really enjoy playing it, especially darts. I agree, the ping cup game takes too long and is aggrevating but overall this is a really good game for the price.
