No More Heroes Review
You are Travis Touchdown, a normal guy (with an otaku geek streak) who wins a Beam Katana through an online auction and uses the weapon to start a new career as a professional killer. One day, an assassin named Helter Skelter appears before Travis and the two face off in a battle. Travis emerges victorious and finds himself in the presence of Silvia Christel, a mysterious French woman who claims to be an agent with the UAA. Silvia gives Travis official rank of 11 in the organization. Now, it’s up to you to become #1.
No More Heroes takes place in the city of Santa Destroy, and you are free to explore the town to your liking, taking on missions large and small to collect money and purchase new weapons as you work up towards the 10 main killing contracts. Gameplay is all about using your Beam Katana (via Wii remote) to defeat enemies.

Very Repetitive Game
I played this game for about 30 mins and almost fell asleep playing. Its not very exciting doing the same thing OVER and OVER and OVER. I rented the game over the weekend and I am soooo glad that I did not buy this game.

Eh …
It’s just okay. If you’re looking for a great lst person adult violence game the Godfather Gold Edition is so much better. My husband loves Grand Theft Auto and after getting him Wii I searched high and low for the closest game to that which is how I came to purchase this. If anyone else is looking for a Grand Theft type game definitely go with Godfather … it’s actually really close but even a bit better. As for No More Heroes the weapon you used is called a “katana” which is basically a lightsaber. This is a little upsetting if you’re a big Star Wars fan b/c it feels like a bit of a second grade rip off.

I’m on the fence about this game
After playing this game for a few hours and doing some of the boss battles, I kept waiting for the game to really grab me. But it never did. It’s somewhat reminiscent of the GTA series with the free roam mode and the crudeness of characters. This game actually sort of reminded me of Kill Bill if you’ve ever seen the movie. Saying that there is a lot off blood in this game is a drastic understatement. The storyline if fun and the idea is very cool. You are a nobody that accidentally got in to a fight with a guy and killed him. Turns out he was an assassin in a group of assassins that are continuously killing each other to be #1. Obviously you are involuntarily sucked into the game. You have to earn money doing monotonous side jobs or minor assassination missions so you can enter in for the next boss battle. The controls are very clever and the weapon usage is pretty unique. But I just wanted more than the single track, linear game. This game completely lacked variety in my opinion, that’s about it. The graphics also looked very poor on a big LCD with and without the component Wii cables. But if you’re in to games with unique and fun controls this may be the game for you.

not good
controls - run around hitting the “A” button
visuals - looks like a ps1 game
little things that make the game a bit funny - like sitting on the toilet to save the game - get old real fast.
